Re: Team Contract and Request for Approval
· The members of the group consisting of Ellisa Frantz, Lisa Hudock, Kalle Medhurst, and Kristen Sims have all received copies of the proposal to assess the GE education program at RU. Each group member has agreed to review the proposal carefully and note any changes that she believes would improve the proposal. Each group member has agreed to pursue the project announced in the proposal so that it reaches its fullest potential. Each group member has taken GE courses at RU and therefore recognizes that the success of this project could greatly benefit RU.
·
The group has agreed to meet in the McConnell Library
lobby on Tuesdays at 11: 30 am. The actual dates are as follows: Oct. 23,
2001; Oct. 30, 2001; Nov. 6, 2001; Nov. 13, 2001; Nov. 20, 2001; Nov. 27, 2001.
· All group members are currently senior-level students at RU. The group is enrolled in English 306 to expand knowledge on business writing procedures. Pursuing this proposal will enable each group member to participate actively in her education by engaging other group members in brainstorming, data collection, data interpretation, interviews, drafts, PowerPoint presentations, and amateur reporting. This proposal will allow group members to pursue knowledge outside of the classroom, thus heightening the reality and application of the English 306 curriculum.
· Each group member has skill sets that are useful to the proposal.
o Ellisa Frantz offers her connections to the office of IRPA to aid in reaching administrators and breaking down survey results. Frantz will assist in surveying, interviewing, and analysis. Frantz will also maintain organization of the project.
o Lisa Hudock would like to work predominantly “behind the scenes,” providing the group with a strong start and necessary interpretation of collected data. Lisa Hudock offers expertise and interest in developing survey questions and analyzing data.
o Kalle Medhurst offers her interviewing skills with particular interest in interviewing professors. Medhurst is willing to work on any aspect of the project -- her versatility will enable the group to accommodate changes or unexpected duties.
o Kristen Sims offers her public speaking talents and interviewing skills to the project. Sims is also currently enrolled in a GE course (INSY 181), which will allow her to provide first-hand experience to compare with survey and interview results.
· Each group member has access to campus computers and software including MS Office software, adobe software, PowerPoint, and e-mail. In addition, group members have access to computers and software outside of computer labs and are willing to communicate via e-mail to discuss and develop portions of the project between group meetings.
