Assignment - On a separate piece of paper, describe your writing and your writing process.  What is it like for you to sit down to write?  What have been your experiences with writing so far? Describe an occasion when writing helped you accomplish something. Begin (or end) the essay with a comparison to something (finish the sentence:  writing is like . . . ) and use that comparison to talk about your writing. What kinds of things have you written in the past?  What have others told you that helped (or hurt) you?  Also, writers need a space (and a time) to write (like an office). Where will you write? And when?
