For Writing Papers:
The Writing Center -- is a free tutorial service located in Muse.  Staffed with trained tutors and peer tutors, they offer help in all stages of the writing process. 
The TextDoctor -- offers a clearinghouse of resources for writing, such as dictionaries/thesari/vocabulary, and resources for professional communicators.
encyclopedia britannica -- the online encyclopedia giant is a good source to look up facts, words, explanations, etc.
Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary -- now including pronunciation tips too. 
Tips for Writing Papers with MLA Style -- my own tips for writing English papers. 

For Technical Writing:
Society for Technical Communication (STC) - an important website for technical writing practitioners.
Association for Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) - an important website for technical writing teachers.

For Careers:
The Purdue Online Writing CenterHas the online resume tutorial and your resumeAction words to describe your skills. Tips for cover letters, and this cover letter sample. For those interested in graduate school, see the personal statement.
The Washington Post:  Provides advice on on career correspondence, including first jobs and internships

For Recreation:
Whitegrass X-Country Skiing -- Backcountry skiing in the West, West Virginia that is.  Spend the day earning your turns, and then eat in the cafe.  My new favorite place on the earth may be Springer Orchard when there's snow in the valley of good karma.
